Hinsdale IL Homes for Sale
In the 2020 census, Hinsdale had a population of 17,395 and is located in both Cook and DuPage counties. Founded in 1875 by William Robbins, Historic Hinsdale is widely-recognized as one of the most esteemed communities in the Western Suburbs. When first developed, its layout featured gently rolling lawns and quiet streets dotted with oak, maple and elm trees – a unique landscape for its day.
Downtown Hinsdale is a delightful destination with stylish boutiques and a range of dining choices from casual to upscale. Additionally, visitors can explore several local plazas and step back into history at the central business district's charming shops and small businesses. The downtown area of Hinsdale is preserved as part of a National Register Historic District and contains many original 73 buildings as well as one park.
Hinsdale is served by both Hinsdale Central and Hinsdale South High Schools District 86, as well as Districts 181 & 60 for junior high school and elementary schools. Over 120 acres of parks are available in the Village, including tennis courts, pools, playgrounds, cross-country skiing, archery, and horseback riding.
